Abraxas Ensemble was formed in 1999 by recent graduates from the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. They operate primarily as a string quartet, but often expand or contract depending on the venue/performance space.
Abraxas have performed at several high-profile events, including RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows for several years. They have provided pre-Christmas entertainment at Asprey of New Bond Street, and for residents of London's Devonshire Square annual Christmas Festival.
They have also been appearing fortnightly on Sundays at Sarastro restaurant on Drury Lane, Covent Garden for the past 15 years!
Abraxas had a trip to Venice in April 2017; they were asked to give a private performance at a client's 50th birthday party. Other recent international travels include: performing for two consecutive years at BKST Karnivali (an art & music festival in Bodrum, Turkey), playing for a wedding in Cyprus, and providing music for another birthday party in Belgium.
